The "Light of the World" 7x10 panel is entering the final stages of bronzing. The sandblasting phase is a technique often used to remove excess material and smooth the surface of the bronze sculpture. This is accomplished by a high-pressure stream of sand, or other abrasive particles, to etch away at the surface of the bronze. The pressure and type of abrasive particles can be adjusted to achieve the desired level of surface roughness and create the final textured finish on the sculpture.
