"Moroni's Warning" Maquette

"Moroni's Warning" by Steven L. Neal has been created. Here, the prophet Moroni is shown inscribing on the Book of Mormon, with his hand on the very last page. He looks directly at the observer, bringing them into the piece. Fittingly, the model for this sculpture is a life-time scholar of the Book of Mormon. It is sculpted at half-life size for the maquette casting and will eventually be resculpted life size and a quarter for park placement. 

The inspiration comes from the final page in the Book of Mormon in which Moroni leaves his testimony and warning for our generation. Moroni 10:27 and 29 read, "And I exhort you to remember these things; for the time speedily cometh that ye shall know that I lie not, for ye shall see me at the bar of God; and the Lord God will say unto you: Did I not declare my words unto you, which were written by this man, like as one crying from the dead, yea, even as one speaking out of the dust?" Verse 29 continues, "And God shall show unto you that that which I have written is true."

"Moroni's Warning" location within the park will be the last sculpture seen as visitors exit.
