"Lehi's Dream of the Tree of Life," by Steven L. Neal, is now completely cast in 40 pieces and being welded together. This panel captures the story from the book of 1 Nephi chapter 8 within the Book of Mormon and closely resembles Neal's original interpretation of this story in the painting titled, "Lehi's Dream."
In both art pieces, there are a few key highlights. Two in particular are the gatherings of people and the large building. The gatherings of people are slightly different in both pieces with the panel representing even more cultures as referenced in 1 Nephi, chapter 8 verse 21, "...I saw numberless concourses of people, many of whom were pressing forward, that they might obtain the path which led unto the tree by which I stood." The building is the "building of the world" and as such, Neal combined every major architectural design spanning 5,000 years.
"Lehi's Dream of the Tree of Life," panel is 7x10 feet and one of 20 panels that will grace the Park grounds.
